It is my personal opinion that the entire album Sidewalk Dreams and Chalk Dust is an unintentional Undertale fan-album...and I plan on eventually drawing something based on each song. I originally intended to do them in order, but then this happened. I tried inking it, I tried digital painting, I thought about coloring traditionally with pencils (and then immediately scrapped that because oh my god no)...and then I fell in love with some Photoshop brushes... I am so freaking happy this thing is done. Really, I've been working on it for over four months. I love how it came out. The coloring was fun and I still get to see the pencil sketch I was so proud of. Honestly, the hardest part of drawing up from pencil for me is having to cover it up. As much as I do like playing around with inking, traditional or otherwise, if I ever start with a base sketch/drawing by hand, I just like it more. The older I get, the more okay I am with just showing off my pencil drawings. I always thought to be a good artist you have to do it all. And then I learned there are comic book artists out there who have never touched an inking pen or color--they hire other people for that shit. I know my strengths at this point. That said, oh my god, these brushes~! I have a feeling some bits of it are over worked and I'll hate it later (as I always do) but for now, damn, this looks good. Anyway, sorry I'm rambling here...I haven't slept yet, just got on a real groove with this. Yeah.
